Mr. Boating Guy, I recently read about fuel cells as a source of electricity. Can I replace the batteries on my boat with one? Fuel cells have been in use on space-borne craft since the early Apollo missions. That's what went bad on Apollo 13, and almost ended the mission. Improvements in energy technology are slowly bringing fuel cells closer to our use. A fuel cell powered bicycle has just been developed, but solar is really more practical, cheaper and safer as an alternative source of power.
